Wyeth Medica orders second PlantMaster system for Newbridge facility

Barco is pleased to announce that Wyeth Medica Ireland (WMI) have recently ordered a second PLANTMASTER real-time production monitoring and scheduling system for their state-of-the-art Newbridge, County Kildare factory.

This order comes as a direct result of the success (and rapid pay-back) of the original PLANTMASTER system installed in their packaging hall. Following the connection of one encapsulation machine as a pilot, the decision was soon taken to connect the entire processing department to its own PLANTMASTER system (both rotary tablet presses and encapsulators).

With PLANTMASTER, users will have access to real-time monitoring and reporting information, which will guarantee optimum efficiency of both the production and packaging of their products. As one of Europe’s leading oral dosage pharmaceutical manufacturers, WMI recognizes the benefits of PLANTMASTER in helping maintain the company’s leadership in a very forward thinking and increasingly competitive market.

The PLANTMASTER system for processing will be connected to 32 machines with a Barco data unit on each, allowing the automatic capture of production data, input of downtime declarations, scrap reasons, weights, etc. This will provide users with a key measurement of machine efficiency throughout the entire plant, whilst removing the inconvenience and cost of manual data collection.
