Tupperware installs tenth PlantMaster system in its Chinese plant
Tupperware, world leader in household appliances and famous for its direct sales network, recently completed the installation of BarcoVision’s PlantMaster system in its plant in Guangzhou, China. After successful installations in its European, North American and Asian plants, the China installation is the tenth plant within the group using the PlantMaster MES system for day-to-day planning and production monitoring.Tupperware’s relation with BarcoVision already dates back to the early nineties when the first VMS-based monitoring systems were installed in the USA and Belgian plants. With the introduction of BarcoVision’s Windows-based PlantMaster system, the VMS-based systems were replaced by PlantMaster and were gradually rolled out in all European, North American and Asian plants. In July 2008, the tenth PlantMaster system within the group was commissioned in the Guangzhou plant.
Today, all plants within the group are on the same release 7.10 of PlantMaster and all systems are linked to the company’s datacenter in Fribourg, Switzerland where all information from the individual systems is centralized for benchmarking and global performance analysis.

The system is integrated with the corporate ERP system for downloading the production orders and for feeding the ERP system with accurate data for inventory and cost accounting purposes. Through the PlantMaster consolidation software, information from all the plants is accessible from our data center in Fribourg, allowing us to compare efficiencies and quality data between the individual plants. The main reasons why we chose BarcoVision as our partner for MES, are the ease of configuration and the flexibility of their software, their excellent world wide service and their continuous investment in research and development and new technologies. The latter resulted in the introduction of their wireless data collection network in our new facilities in Aalst, Belgium and in our Tours, France operation.”
