India's Raymond Ltd. chooses Barco for production monitoring.

Barco is pleased to announce that Raymond Ltd., India's leading producer of worsted suiting fabric, has purchased Barco's WEAVEMASTER and QUALIMASTER manufacturing execution systems for two of its operations in India. Linking the two facilities to the company-wide ERP system, Barco's WEAVEMASTER and QUALIMASTER systems will allow Raymond Ltd. to optimize its production cycle.

The first Barco system will be installed in Raymond Ltd. Textile Division located in VAPI (suiting). In addition to the rapier weaving machines, the warp preparation and finishing machines will be also monitored by the WEAVEMASTER system. With the installation of the QUALIMASTER system, the fabric inspection department will be computerized to include optimized cutting of the finished fabric rolls.

For the joint venture company Raymond Zambaiti Pvt. Ltd., KOLHAPUR (shirting) the same WEAVEMASTER - QUALIMASTER combination has been ordered. The weaving machines will communicate to the server system by means of Barco’s wireless data communication technology based on Bluetooth. On the inspection frames, touch screen fabric inspection terminals will be used for user-friendly data entry by the inspectors.

In both mills, the Barco system will be linked to the corporate ERP system. This will allow Raymond Ltd. to download order data to the WEAVEMASTER production management system. With the WEAVEMASTER “Planboard” module, mill management will be in a position to schedule the individual warping and weaving manufacturing orders. QUALIMASTER will be used to perform On-Loom inspection, greige inspection as well as finished inspection. QUALIMASTER will report information related to the individual finished piece back to the ERP system.

This investment is a first step in Raymond’s plan to integrate 6 manufacturing sites the group's ERP infrastructure. Barco is proud to add Raymond Ltd. to its Indian reference list, which already features leading manufacturers such as Arvind Mills, Century Denim, Maral Overseas, Himatsingka Seide and Prathiba Syntex.
